SNTIENT

SNTIENT is a narrative-led, cross-media storytelling project exploring identity, expression, and digital fashion in a post-human future. Set in a world where humanity has retreated into virtual life, the robots left behind begin to awaken—discovering creativity, individuality, and the power of self-expression.

Commissioned with the support of an Epic Games MegaGrant and originally conceived by Matthew Drinkwater (London College of Fashion’s Innovation Agency), with story by Moin Roberts-Islam, SNTIENT was developed as a platform for ongoing worldbuilding—one that invites audiences and brands alike to participate in a shared, evolving digital universe.

dandelion + burdock led the project’s creative direction from concept through execution, shaping the visual identity and narrative tone of the first chapter. We designed and directed the main film, developed the world’s visual language, and worked closely with a small team of artists to build its environments, characters, and overall aesthetic. Using Unreal Engine, Houdini, and a blend of procedural and handcrafted techniques, we created a world that feels immersive, expressive, and open-ended by design.

This first chapter serves as a launch point for a larger vision: a narrative universe that spans digital and physical spaces, where creativity is collaborative and the world continues to grow.
